Motion-capture. Bit boring really? It's just men clowning around in ping-pong ball suits, right? Wrong.
CVG is in Ubisoft Montreal's mo-cap studio, and we've just seen Michael Mando - the guy who essentially is Vaas in Far Cry 3 - act out a scene that has been streamed directly into the game.
To clarify - he acts it out, and that performance is captured in the Far Cry 3 engine. It's the height of tech nerdiness, it's also the future of games.
"I think Vaas is in all of us. Just like all the monsters in the world, they're not inhuman, they're all human right?" muses Mando as we chat to him after the performance. Mando was Ubisoft's eureka moment for Far Cry 3 - when he turned up and auditioned for lead antagonist Vaas, they knew they had something special for their game.
"I had improvised a lot; I had brought in a lot of my own stuff at the beginning and the end. I thought it was pretty risky. When I Was done there was a silence in the room and they said can you do it again but even further," says Mando, recalling his audition.
