With the huge fanfare and cult following behind Final Fantasy VII, you'd have thought that game is the series' most successful. But it isn't.
In terms of raw money-making credentials, it's actually Final Fantasy XI - a subscription-based MMO - that has made Square Enix the most coin.
"Looking at profitability, it's the top of all past FF games," said CEO Yoichi Wada at a recent Vana Fest event.
It should come as no surprise, then, that Square is still supporting the MMO with another new expansion - five years after the previous expansion and a decade after the game's release - titled 'Seekers of Adoulin'. A trailer for that is below.
