Rockstar will release the first Max Payne 3 download content next week, July 3 on Xbox and PS3, and July 17 on PC.
Titled the 'Local Justice' pack, it adds "three new maps for multiplayer featuring areas from the game's intense final chapters, plus a new weapon (M4 Assault Rifle), a new item ('Light Fingers' for faster looting), a new multiplayer faction (São Paulo Police) and associated new Achievements, Trophies or Social Club accomplishments," explains Rockstar.
The '55th Battalion HQ' map will work with all game modes, while the Imperial Palace and Departure Lounge maps will only be available for Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch and Payne Killer modes.
Having been delayed from an originally planned June release, the pack will go on sale at a reduced price - 480 Microsoft Points (Xbox LIVE) or $5.99 on PSN and PC - for launch week "as a show of appreciation for your patience".
After that week it'll cost you 640 Microsoft Points (Xbox LIVE) or $7.99 on PSN and PC.
Pre-order and retail-exclusive DLC will also be released to those who have the $30 Rockstar Pass on July 3. Hit the source link for more on that.
