Eidos boss man Ian Livingstone has said the 'rape scene' controversy surrounding the E3 trailer for Tomb Raider has been "blown out of proportion".
Livingstone describes the debacle as a "live interview that went slightly wrong," adding that, "quotes were misinterpreted and blown out of proportion".
Speaking of the trailer specifically, Livingstone said, "There was a momentary threat to Lara which she overcame in two seconds. The reaction has been quite extreme."
He even went on to say that games shouldn't try to contain such themes. "I think about my responsibility as a developer - films can deal with these themes, but it's different in games when the user controls the action," he said.
