MAG studio was working on 'TBD' PlayStation platform

Was closed Sony dev Zipper creating a next-gen shooter?

Zipper Interactive, developer of numerous SOCOM titles, MAG and Unit 13, was creating a game for a 'TBD' PlayStation console prior to its closure.

That's according to the LinkedIn page belonging to a former Zipper employee dug up by Superannuation.

The studio was supposedly working on "two unannounced projects", one for PS3 and the other listed for the unspecified platform. Since Zipper was a Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studio, PlayStation 4 is a definite possibility.

The employee's job description suggests both titles were multiplayer-oriented shooters.

Sony closed the Seattle-based studio in March: "The closure is a result of a normal cycle of resource re-alignment within SCE WWS," it said at the time.

"Zipper has completed all work associated with its most recent project, Unit 13 for PlayStation Vita. Zipper titles MAG, SOCOM 4 and Unit 13 will continue to be supported, including the new Daily Challenges in Unit 13."
