Amazon announces GameCircle

The new gaming experience for Kindle Fire

In a move to entice game developers to the Kindle Fire, Amazon has announced the GameCircle.

Amazon's GameCircle is a way for developers to integrate all achievements, trophies and leaderboards to games for the KIndle Fire, while providing an in-depth gaming experience for players.

If being the best or collecting every achievement or trophy in a game is how you prefer to play, then GameCircle will help you keep track of your progress.

The most interesting feature the GameCircle offers though, is the Sync function. This keeps saved games in the cloud, so if you play on a different device, or delete then reinstall the game, you can pick up where you left off.

There aren't a lot of developers using GameCircle yet, but those who are seem happy with the service.

Keith Shepherd co-founder of Imagi Studios says, "We are thrilled to be part of Amazon's GameCircle with Temple Run...The new service is a great way to keep our fans engaged by offering them more opportunities to play the game, and an intuitive platform to connect with new players."

Amazon is offering an open invitation to all developers to sign up to access the GameCentric APIs, and have provided a list of what games are currently using GameCircle.

Amazon has made a video to explain the new service, which you can watch here.
