The image on this page is what's claimed to be the first leaked snap of Sony rumoured new top-loading PS3.
The image apparently first appeared on the website of Anatel (the Brazilian Agency of Telecommunications), showing what looks like a PS3 with a new ridged surface and a panel on the left that would be the top-loading disc drive spied in the FCC filings Sony submitted recently.
Have a look...
The current PS3, a smaller, more energy efficient and cheaper model than the original SKU, was announced at Gamescom back in August 2009, and recently rumours have been circulating that Sony intends to release a new model designed to take advantage of late adopters.
Asked last month about the possibility of another PS3 hardware revision, Sony Worldwide Studios boss Shuhei Yoshida didn't rule out the possibility.
Take the image with a grain of salt for now, but this wouldn't be the first time a new PS3 SKU has been pictured long before its announcement and release. Remember this video taken at an "underground market in the Philippines" showing a then only rumoured PS3 Slim FOR SALE?
