Konami to open PES studio in London

UK base expected to enhance the series' European authenticity

Konami is in the process of establishing a new London studio as part of a wider plan to boost the credentials of its Pro Evolution Soccer series.

CVG understands that the publisher will open a London base in the hope that it can deliver a more authentic European feel to the PES series, which is principally developed in Japan. Along with a localisation team, various artists and developers are also expected to work at the hub.

A Konami spokesperson declined to comment.

Information on the studio was leaked ahead of its official announcement due to a job vacancy page on Gamasutra.

The job advertisement reads: "PES Productions is opening a new "Football game productions" in London in order to continue striving to reproduce European football culture at its best in their games. The production will create PES projects targeting high-end game consoles and PCs."
