Nintendo DS is currently the second best selling video game console of all time, second only to the PS2. It has shipped over 150 million units worldwide, including spin-off versions.
The DS launched in Europe on March 11, 2005, selling 87,000 units in the UK in just two days. Two years later in November, 2007, the handheld set a new weekly hardware sales record in the UK, with over 191,000 units sold. UK sales monitor Chart-Track revealed this had broken the record held by the PSP, which sold 185,000 units in its first week of UK availability.
