The BlazBlue series has hit 1.7 million sales worldwide, according to the franchise's US publisher Aksys Games.
To celebrate the third anniversary of BlazBlue's North American debut, Aksys plans to host three contests from August through October offering fans the chance to win prizes including signed illustrations by developer Arc System Works' BlazBlue team and an exclusive BlazBlue banner.
Arc System Works has also announced that the latest entry in the 2D fighting series will hit Japanese arcades in winter 2012.
Titled BlazBlue Chrono Phantasma, the game will feature three new characters (Amane Nishiki, Bullet and Azrael), fresh and updated stages and background music, plus new skills for existing characters, Andriasang, reports. Here's the debut trailer:
BlazBlue Continuum Shift Extend was a Vita launch title earlier this year. "A complex-yet-accessible 2D fighter which will satisfy hardcore SF fans much more than Marvel vs Capcom 3," we said in our BlazBlue Continuum Shift review.
