EA Labels president: 'I've seen Xbox 720, PS4'

Executive claims to be privy to platform holders' next gen plans

EA Labels president Frank Gibeau claims to have seen Xbox 720 and PlayStation 4, or whatever Microsoft and Sony's next-gen consoles will be called, first hand.

Gibeau made the remark during a Gamescom keynote focusing on the changing landscape of the games industry, in which he outlined why he thinks games that release in four years will be unrecognisable to us today.

On the subject of new Microsoft and Sony consoles, Gibeau teased (via Gamespot): "I've seen both of them."

EA has said it will invest $80 million in next gen games during the current business year ending March 31 2013.

While Xbox 720 and PS4 remain unannounced, Microsoft has mentioned a next gen console on numerous occasions over the past month, while SCE UK boss Fergal Gara said in July that he expects retail to play a key role "whenever the next cycle starts".
