Five other N64 classics that could thrive on 3DS

Daily Digest: CVG selects five old but never forgotten classics

Earlier today GAME listed The Legend Of Zelda: Majora's Mask 3D for the Nintendo 3DS [UPDATE: It has emerged that the listing was a hoax.]. Given the critical and commercial success of Ocarina of Time 3D, it makes sense that the house of Mario would follow up by giving its sequel the same treatment.

We're all for it, but we think Nintendo should branch out its 3D-makeover initiative beyond Zelda games. In the feature below, CVG has picked out five Nintendo 64 games worthy of sprucing up for the Nintendo 3DS.

1080 Snowboarding

While EA's SSX might be the poster child for extreme snowboarding games, Nintendo's 1080 Snowboarding was a popular and acclaimed simulation of the sport.

1080 was celebrated for its sharp visuals, infallible physics model and sense of speed. Unlike its trick-obsessed successors, 1080 was a pure, no-frills racing experience. Its gameplay depth came from mastering the complex but intuitive controls, which rewarded attentive players. With a fresh lick of paint and a bit of 3D magic, 1080 could bring the thrills of barrelling down a glistening snow covered mountain to new generation of game lovers. Make it happen Nintendo!
