Fable creator Peter Molyneux and his team at 22 Cans are inviting gamers to sign up to participate in a field test for its first game, Curiosity - What's inside the Cube.
"We are looking for some feedback," says the Facebook page which offers gamers the opportunity to sign of for the developer's "first experiment".
"Hopefully these people will give honest feedback on what Curiosity is like, and spot some of the flaws in this totally unique experience," it adds.
It seems that the early test is time-sensitive, with the test asking that participants have "a spare hour at about 16:00 GMT Tuesday-Friday", (8am Pacific).
Curiosity is a quirky new iPhone game that will place all players in the same virtual room containing a single cube that users tap away at, causing fractures. Eventually the cube will break open, revealing something "truly amazing" and "absolutely unique", according to Molyneux, but only the player who delivers the decisive final tap will get to see what.
22 Cans' project was initially expected to launch last month before being delayed to an unspecified day in September.
