Play Pokémon Black/White 2 early to get a free rare Pokémon

Nintendo offers rare beast to early adopters

Nintendo of America will give away a rare Pokémon for free to players who pick up a copy of Pokémon Black/White 2 before November 12.

The reward for being an early adopter comes in the form of a super-rare Bug- Steel-type Mythical Pokémon called Genesect (pictured).

All players have to do is buy the game and connect to Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection online before November 12, giving you just over a month from the game's October 7 launch to take advantage of the limited offer.

For now the announcement appears specific to North America.

Here's the blurb on Genesect: "Genesect, the newly discovered Mythical Pokémon, has been restored from a 300-million-year-old fossil. Modified by Team Plasma, this Pokémon has a signature move called Techno Blast. Genesect is the only known Pokémon with this move. Genesect is a Bug- and Steel-type Pokémon with the ability to adjust its power levels based on the foe it's battling."

Below are some screenshots of the beast in action, along with a look at Black Tower - a new location in the corresponding version of the game.
