Sony's new 'super slim' PS3 will retail at £185 at HMV stores across the UK, the retail group has told CVG.
The new PlayStation 3 model will launch on October 12th, equipped with 12GB of internal flash storage.
A second variant of the device, which comes with a half-terabyte hard drive, is released on September 28th and will be sold for £249.99 at HMV.
A spokesperson for the retail group said HMV was eager on being as competitive as possible with regards to game hardware RRPs.
The new compact PS3 is 20 per cent smaller and 25 per cent lighter than PS3 Slim.

The 250GB PS3 will be available in the US on September 25 for $250, or for $270 as part of a limited edition bundle featuring Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception Game of the Year Edition and a voucher for more than $30 worth of bonus digital content for Dust 514. The 500GB PS3 will launch in the States on October 30 for $300.
The new PS3 will launch in Japan on October 4, with the 250GB console priced at 25,000 yen and the 500GB model at 30,000 yen.
The system will be available in Australia from September 27, with the 12GB version costing $300 and the 500GB one $400.
