Capcom has announced Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen, a new "major expansion" for the well-received action RPG. See screens and a trailer below.
The expansion is due for release on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in 2013, the publisher confirmed at TGS today. No other details were given, though Capcom did reveal that Speedrun and Hard modes will be released for the original game before the end of this year.
Word of a follow-up first emerged earlier this summer when creator Hideaki Itsuno said 'he'd love to make Dragon's Dogma 2' and has 'plenty in mind for a potential sequel'.
Capcom later announced its intention to develop Dragon's Dogma into a series, having set a first-week sales record in Japan for a new franchise.
Capcom reported a profit jump of 290% in its financial results for the first fiscal quarter ended June 30, 2012. It also reaffirmed Dragon's Dogma's success 'sets the stage for a series of titles'.
