Revolution Studios will develop a sequel to classic point-and-click adventure game Beneath a Steel Sky even though it failed to meets its Kickstarter goal.
"We're delighted by the recent level of interest in a sequel to Beneath a Steel Sky and are currently discussing design ideas for this project which we plan to go into development following the release of Broken Sword - The Serpent's Curse," Revolution co-founder Tony Warriner has told Develop.
"We're deeply touched that our Steel Sky fans are as enthusiastic today as they were when the original game released in 1994."
The studio successfully used the crowd-funding service to get Broken Sword - The Serpent's Curse off the ground. It asked for $400,000 and was fully funded in just 13 days. The Kickstarter went on to raise a total of $771,561.
Unfortunately, Revolution's Kickstarter for Beneath a Steel Sky 2 wasn't as successful. The studio set a goal of $1 million, but missed the mark by $200,000.
