The box-set, which in the US will cost $59.99, marks the first time Mass Effect 1 (released on Xbox 360 in 2007) will be released on Sony's PlayStation system.

The trilogy will be released on PC and Xbox on November 6th in the US. EA has not specifed when the PS3 edition would be released.

It is unclear whether the trilogy will be released across Europe. An EA spokesperson said there was no further information available with regards to a possible UK release.

Following the departure of BioWare founders Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka, the studio revealed it is developing a new Mass Effect game and all-new IP.

A plot summary for the Mass Effect 3 Omega DLC has supposedly been discovered and posted online.
