Angry Birds spin-off Bad Piggies surged to the top of the US iTunes App Store chart in record time for developer Rovio.
The game hit the No.1 spot yesterday a little over three hours after it was released, beating the previous records set by Angry Birds Space and Amazing Alex, the last two games from the Finnish studio.
"It's been an incredible launch, both for the game and for Bad Piggies as a brand," said Rovio CEO Mikael Hed.
Bad Piggies is a physics-based puzzler which challenges players to build simple contraptions that they then pilot through obstacles on a mission to steal bird eggs.
The first free Bad Piggies update will launch in the next few weeks, introducing new levels and unlockable content.
