Key Bioware designer resigns

Old Republic developer departs after seven years

Star Wars: The Old Republic lead designer Daniel Erickson has made his departure from BioWare official, having announced he has begun a job-hunting process.

Erickson's departure from BioWare was hinted at several weeks ago when the developer updated his LinkedIn profile with "actively looking for new opportunities," as Massively points out.

The news of his resignation from BioWare was made public on his Twitter account, where he posted "as part of leaving BioWare I am officially starting a twitter account for job hunt and design thoughts."

The BioWare Austin team underwent a restructuring earlier this year, which resulted in the layoffs of staff who worked on SWTOR. The reason for Erickson's departure has not been announced.

Erickson worked with BioWare for seven years, first on Dragon Age, then as lead writer on SWTOR, before moving on to a senior design role.
