Apple will finally reveal the long-rumoured iPad mini at an invitation-only event on October 23, according to AllThingsD sources.
The site suggests the event is likely to take place at Apple's Town Hall Auditorium in Cupertino, California, where the company previously debuted OS X Lion and iPhone 4S.
Guardian sources have also suggested that the iPad mini is likely to be Wi-Fi-only. Choosing not to release a 3G-capable version of the device would allow Apple to produce and sell it for less.
Apple has yet to officially confirm plans to launch a new tablet, but iPad mini is expected to feature a 7.85 inch display produced by LG and AU Optronics.
