The Wii U launch is just around the corner, and the GamePad controls are definitely creating a sense of excitement and intrigue, but just how well does the GamePad actually work?
Ubisoft's Michel Ancel - the creator of Rayman, and the man responsible for Rayman Legends on Wii U - has discussed just how advanced the GamePad really is.
In an interview with Nintendo Power, as reported by Nintendo Everything, Ancel describes the GamePad as being where "Nintendo is really out in front of things." The GamePad streams content straight from the TV through a wireless connection, so it is natural for people to be concerned with just how well the GamePad can keep up. Ancel has dispelled all fears by simply stating that the GamePad, is "really responsive."
"The response time is crazy," he continued, "In fact, and I think competitors will need some time to [get their solutions] this responsive."
Ancel explains that the GamePad runs at 60 frames per second, with a latency of "just 1/60 of a second, so it's one frame late. It's crazy. It's so fast, it's almost instant."
The Wii U may look like just another Nintendo gimmick to some, but the technology and power we are seeing from this console may just change a few people's minds about this one.
