The latest addition to the Infinity Blade series will not be released in 2012, Epic Games has confirmed.
The iOS title was revealed at Apple's New iPad press conference in March but little information on the game has been published since.
Impossible Studios, a new development team established in Maryland, has been assigned the task of finishing the Infinity Blade project. Thus far the Infinity Blade games have been developed primarily by Chair Entertainment.
"Ever since the talented team at Impossible Studios got their hands on Infinity Blade: Dungeons, they've been busy adding their great ideas to the game," Epic Games spokesman Wes Phillips told AllThingsD.
"There was also the matter of getting the Impossible Studios team up and running with desks, chairs, staplers and computers. The logistics of a new studio and implementing all these great ideas required a little extra time, so Infinity Blade: Dungeons will hit iOS in 2013."
The Infinity Blade series has proven to be significantly profitable for Epic Games. Since the release of the first game, in 2011, the studio has made more than $30 million from the franchise.
