XCOM: Enemy Unknown add-on packs detailed

New single-player content ushers in missions

Firaxis Games' critically acclaimed XCOM reboot will receive two add-on content packs soon, though you may already have one of them.

While The Elite Solider Pack was available to those who pre-ordered XCOM: Enemy Unknown, it'll now be available on PS3, 360 and PC for AU$7.75 or 400 Microsoft Points. The pack provides deeper customisation options and a new recruit based on a character from the original XCOM.

The all new content is called the Slingshot Content Pack, and comprises new Council missions. According to a release from 2k, the pack will have gamers "meet an enigmatic Triad operative, divert an alien ship's course, and do battle with the aliens in the skies over China." The pack will feature three new maps, and no official release date or price has been confirmed.

CVG scored XCOM: Enemy Unknown a whooping 9.2, calling it a "surprisingly personal turn-based masterpiece".
