The Neo Geo X, a new handheld device that allows people to play the classic console on the go, will be priced in Europe at £175.
Bundled with the handheld is a protective case that resembles the original Neo Geo console (which doubles as a docking station), along with a working arcade stick. The handheld's screen is a 4.3 inch LCD, displaying at 16:9
Some 20 Neo Geo games are pre-loaded on the console, many of which are heralded as classics from the 16-bit era.
According to a report on Eurogamer, the console will launch on December 6.
The Neo Geo X supports two players; a 480p signal can be sent to the TV via HDMI while two arcade controllers can be plugged into the device.
A fully charged battery will offer about 3-4 hours of full play, and standard headphones can be attached via a 3.5mm jack.
Standalone game cards (essentially read-only memory cards) can be purchased to play other specific titles. European distributor Blaze has already outlined plans to release additional Neo Geo games, depending on the popularity of the handheld.
20 games built in the device include:
- 3 COUNT BOUT.
- ART OF FIGHTING.
- ALPHA MISSION II.
- BASEBALL STARS II.
- CYBER LIP.
- FATAL FURY.
- FATAL FURY SPECIAL.

The Neo Geo, which launched in the early '90s, was never a commercial triumph for owning company SNK though - largely due to its sophisticated 2D graphics - the system had cultivated a core audience.
