Diablo 3 tops 10 million sales

Activision cites "record-shattering" sales in US and Europe

Activision Blizzards says Diablo 3 sales have passed 10 million copies.

The publisher's CEO Bobby Kotick announced the milestone during the firm's Q3 2012 financials call today, citing internal data for both retail and digital sales in US and Europe.

The firm called the game's performance since its release in May 2012 "record-shattering", being the "#1 best-selling game in dollars and units on the PC in the US and Europe" since its launch.

Activision's success on the PC platform this quarter has also been cemented by strong sales of World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, which sold through 2.7 million copies in its first week on sale, and contributed to the rise of WoW subscriptions to over 10 million.
