Square Enix merger 'a complete failure,' says former exec

Ex-Square president believes the publisher has "no vision for the future"

Former Square president Hisashi Suzuki has called the 2003 merger between Square and Enix "a complete failure".

Taking to Twitter (via Develop) to voice his displeasure at the current state of the company, Suzuki suggested the publisher has "no vision for the future".

Suzuki, who also served as a director at Square Enix from 2003 to 2005 and now works as a director at Sega, concluded by linking to a news article highlighting his former employer's recent financial results.

On Tuesday Square Enix reported a net loss of almost £43 million for the first half of its fiscal year.

The publisher's next big release is Hitman Absolution on November 20, while Crystal Dynamics' Tomb Raider reboot is set for release on March 5, 2013.
