Star Wars: The Old Republic's new free-to-play model will launch on November 15, developer BioWare has confirmed.
The transition had previously been touted for Autumn, when in July BioWare confirmed plans to unlock the first 50 levels of the game up for free play.
The subscription model will remain, but a 'free-to-play option" will let players take control of any of the eight classes up to level 50.
There will be "certain restrictions" to free-to-play gamers however. "Unlimited game access, including new higher-level game content and new features, will be made available through individual purchases or through a subscription option," explained EA at the time of the original announcement.
BioWare yesterday released a video detailing new content for the game's next major update, titled 'Game Update 1.5: HK-51 Activated'.
