The azure Son of Sparda's downloadable chapter will include a new storyline, all new weapons, combos, unique enemies and four difficulty levels. According to Capcom the chapter will show "how Vergil got to be where is with regards to the main story in the game".

Capcom has confirmed Vergil's Downfall will be available post-launch for 720 MS points and £7.29, €8.99, $8.99 on PSN, but a release date has not been finalised. Pre-order customers from GameStop (US) or EBGames (Canada) will get the additional content for free. Details on European pre-order initiatives featuring Vergil's Downfall will be available soon.
