Black Ops 2 owners have reported that some copies of the PC version have been shipping with the second disc of Mass Effect 2. BioWare is now offering free PC copies of the Mass Effect Trilogy to the first 50 people affected.
BioWare has posted on its blog about the rather odd situation claiming that the universe wants everyone to play Mass Effect.
The blog reads:
"Rumor has it that about a thousand customers who purchased Call of Duty: Black Ops II for PC today were also treated to a surprise copy of Mass Effect 2. If you were one of the affected, chances are you thought it was a mistake, but we prefer to think that it was an omen, and when the universe talks, you should listen.
If the universe thinks that you should be playing Mass Effect right now, who are we to argue? In fact, we want to help!"
BioWare goes on to explain that the first fifty people who send in a photo of themselves - clearly visible - with the affected disc 2 of Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 - also clearly visible - will receive a free PC code for the Mass Effect Trilogy.
The details on where to send your photo can be found on BioWare's blog.
