November has been kind to us. So far this month we've had Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 and Halo 4, both of which were well received critically and are on their way to making and breaking records. On the horizon is Hitman: Absolution, Epic Mickey 2, new Mass Effect 3 DLC and plenty more to keep our wallets empty and thumbs moving.
But before we move on to the next big thing let's look back at October, which was packed with an impressively varied line-up of games.
The triple A contingent was represented with Assassin's Creed 3, Dishonored, XCOM: Enemy Unknown and a handful of other equally high-profile releases. Dennaton Games made waves with a blood-soaked, acid trip of a top down action game Hotline Miami, while Giant Sparrow's beautiful debut, The Unfinished Swan, further cemented Sony's PSN as a platform for the weird and wonderful.
But how did CVG readers rate October's releases? Last month we solicited our community to stamp their own scores on the games of the month and below are the results so far.
Despite being the newest of the bunch, readers seem to have taken quite a liking to Assassin's Creed 3, which placed at the top of the rankings, followed by fellow stab-happy stealth game Dishonored. Last month's talk of the town XCOM: Enemy Unknown placed third, with Telltale's superb take on The Walking Dead following it.
