Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 recorded the biggest UK launch of 2012 and the fourth biggest of all time to debut at No.1 on the all formats chart for the week ended November 17.
The Xbox 360 version of the latest Call of Duty game accounted for 60 per cent of launch week sales, the PS3 edition for 38 per cent, and the PC one for the remainder.
Black Ops 2's first week sales have only previously been bettered by 2010's original Call of Duty: Black Ops, last year's Modern Warfare 3 and 2009's Modern Warfare 2, although it should be noted that each of those titles launched on more than three platforms.
Halo 4 dropped one spot to No.2 on the latest weekly chart, ahead of FIFA 13, Assassin's Creed 3 and Skylanders Giants.
Call of Duty: Black Ops Declassified also debuted at No.16, becoming the second biggest Vita launch of the year according to GfK Chart-Track.
