'The current gen is over, I'm moving to PC'

Your machine can do more than just process words y'know

On this weeks mailbox we've got Mark Marling, who e-mailed in to say he's washing his hands of current generation consoles and jumping ship to the superior PC. Is this something you've thought about doing? Let us know in the comments.

Take it away Mark.

To celebrate the tenth anniversary of the Battlefield series, EA are sold BF3 for PC for £9.99 on Origin. Now Ialways knew from the YouTube vids that BF3 looks a lot better on PC than it does on Xbox, but seeing it for myself in ultra settings, in 1080p, at 60+ frames per second - my god it's stunning.

So I'm abandoning the 600+ hours Ihave on Xbox to start from scratch on PC. I've also made the decision that I'm going to buy the rest of the year's big releases on PC if they are available. For me the current console generation is over. And to be honest, I think I'm about a year late.

XBW says: Yes, PC tech is way ahead of consoles now, but it's far more expensive. You're right, the next-gen will bring more parity between console and PC, but no-one knows when it's coming.

CVG says: We're not done with current-gen quite yet but we've been spending much more time playing PC games recently. Oddly, it's games we've already completed on Xbox 360 or PS3. Throw a few mods on Grand Theft Auto 4 and it's a whole new experience. Give it a shot.
