Naughty Dog has unveiled the box art and pre-order bonus details for The Last of Us.
The art features both Ellie and Joel walking through the ravaged remains of Pittsburgh.
Pre-ordering bonuses come in two flavours; the first is called the 'Sights and Sounds Pack' and includes the official soundtrack of the game, a PS3 dynamic theme, and Winter Joel and Winter Ellie PSN avatars.
US GameStop customers will receive additional content on top of the Sights and Sounds Pack: bonus experience points for multiplayer, a multiplayer melee attack booster, extra starting in-game cash, special customizable character items for multiplayer, plus two special bonus skins for Joel and Ellie which will be unlocked after your complete the single player campaign.
Following the reveal, Naughty Dog creative director Neil Druckmann took what appeared to be a cheeky pop at the recent BioShock: Infinite box art, which was criticised for being generic and relegating its female protagonist to the rear of the package.
So glad people like the box art. See, you can put the girl in the front! #thelastofus— Neil Druckmann (@Neil_Druckmann) December 10, 2012
In the midst of the furore, Irrational Games co-founder Ken Levine defended the Bioshock Infinite box art by saying that it was designed to pique the interest of the "uninformed"
Naughty Dog confirmed a release date for The Last of Us in a new trailer shown at the VGAs last week.
