Original IP switch for next LEGO game trio

Warner Bros reveals LEGO Chima projects

The next set of LEGO games will not be a movie or brand crossover but instead a series of games based on a new fictional universe, publisher Warner Bros has announced.

LEGO Legends of Chima is set in a mythical world of magical animal tribes. Publisher Warner Bros is backing the IP with three separate games - one on iOS, one on handhelds and the third available online.

"We are doing something innovative with LEGO Legends of Chima by making three distinct videogame experiences on a variety of platforms," said Warner Bros executive Samantha Ryan.

"By creating multiple LEGO videogame experiences for one brand, we are catering to today's diverse gaming community, as well as establish a rewards system for players of all three games."

In partnership with TT Games, Bournemouth based digital design group 4T2 has built a racing mini-game called LEGO Legends of Chima: Speedorz. The title is due for release on iOS from January 3.

Meanwhile, TT Games' in-house studio is working on Legends of Chima: Laval's Journey, an adventure game due for release on 3DS and PS Vita by autumn.

Thirdly, Legends of Chima Online is a free-to-play online title developed by WB Games Montreal.
