New Star Wars: The Old Republic update forthcoming; same gender romance still coming

Update 1.7 and new expansion detailed

SW:TOR Executive producer Jeff Hickman has confirmed in a new blog post that update 1.7 will usher in changes to an as-yet confirmed "special PvP area", as well as the return of the Gree Enclave.

Hickman also noted features in the forthcoming digital expansion Rise of the Hutt Cartel, including "several new systems, 5 new levels, a big new planet, new storylines, new skills and abilities and more beyond that."

On the introduction of same-sex relationships into the MMO, Hickman admitted that the ability will require more work than initially thought, citing a focus on the transition to free-to-play as a reason for the delay.

"As we have said in the past, allowing same gender romance is something we are very supportive of," he wrote. Hickman went on to reveal that same-gender romance will be available with "some NPCs on [the planet] Makeb and we do intend on pursuing more SGR options in the future."
