Major League Baseball 2K13 returns to consoles

Shock turnaround for aborted baseball series as new deal is inked

Take-Two is weeks away from publishing the next game in its Major League Baseball series, having finalised terms with the official sports associations.

Major League Baseball 2K13 is due for release on PS3 and Xbox 360 on March 5, in a surprise announcement following months of suggestions that the game series would not return.

2K Sports has indicated in the past that the MLB 2K series was to be discontinued. The game was omitted from Take-Two's release list for the fiscal year.

Jason Argent, vice president of marketing for 2K Sports, thanked the Major League Baseball associations "for their support in helping us reach an agreement to bring back MLB 2K".

"We know fans are extremely passionate about the MLB 2K series," he added.

Specific terms of the deal, particularly the length of the new contract, have not been disclosed.

David Price, pitcher for the Tampa Bay Rays, has been selected as the cover athlete for MLB 2K13.
