Bungie to make Destiny reveal at GDC

Developer hosts 'Brave New World' presentation to discuss next universe

Bungie is expected to reveal new details about its upcoming new universe, dubbed 'Destiny', during a presentation the 2013 Game Developers Conference in March.

The talks, titled 'Brave New World', will be hosted by Bungie writer and design director Joe Staten and art director Christopher Barrett.

They'll discuss the art of building a new game world using Destiny to demonstrate how it put its talents to use, offering a "glimpse of the brave new world that has been built".

"Two decades of success in the gaming industry is no small feat, but after ten years of Halo, Bungie found themselves faced with a tremendous challenge: to build a whole new world, filled with even more amazing mysteries, places, creatures, and opportunities for player investment," reads the GDC schedule brief.

"For the first time ever, Bungie creative directors will discuss their world building techniques, from concept to production. Attendees will walk away with key insights into Bungie's battle-tested design process. They'll get a glimpse of the brave new world that has been built, a place where the next ten years of great Bungie adventures will unfold."

Although Bungie is yet to give Destiny an official reveal, the first images and plot details of the secret project were revealed via leaked marketing documentation late last year.

In response to the leaks, Bungie released a statement saying, "Go ahead. Take a peek. It's alright. We weren't quite ready, but we will be soon, and we can't wait to finally show you what we've really been up to."
