Joins Rome and Carthage

Sega has announced Macedon as the third playable faction in Rome 2: Total War.

Joining the Roman and the Carthage factions revealed last month, the Greek city-state is profiled on the Total War Wiki. Here's an excerpt:

Proud warriors and gifted statesmen, the Macedonians yearn to return to the glory-days of Alexander The Great. However, hemmed in by the other Greek city-states, who find Macedon's empire-building past hard to forget, players will have to work hard to forge local alliances.

A few months ago it was reported that the Rome 2: Total War release date has been set for October 2013, although Sega's officially announced launch window for the game is simply late next year.

CVG visited Creative Assembly last June for an exclusive first look at the sequel, and you can read every detail in our Rome 2: Total War preview and our Rome 2: Total War interview with lead designer James Russell.
