New Killzone: Mercenary art shown on magazine cover

Fresh details on Vita shooter expected this week

Sony has promised it will be providing new details on Killzone: Mercenary later this week.

The new entry in the shooter franchise was first revealed at GamesCom 2012, touted as "a completely new game that simply wouldn't be possible on any other platform".

Although the title hasn't been seen or heard of since the event PlayStation Blog manager Fred Dutton revealed Sony intends on revealing more about the game this week.

"We'll be talking more about KZ:M next week, so I'll leave you hanging for now!," he posted in reply to a user inquiring about the game.

In the meantime fans have been given a look at some new art from the game courtesy of Polish gaming magazine PSX Extreme, which features Killzone: Mercenary on the cover (above).

According to details found in the mag (translated by NeoGAF users) Mercenary's engine is "nearly 1:1 from PS3 version" and is described as a "portable Killzone 3, looking better than Uncharted."
