Gas Powered Games cancels Wildman Kickstarter

Dev to focus on "other ways" to keep firm running

Gas Powered Games has cancelled the Kickstarter fund for its 'evolutionary action RPG' Wildman.

Speaking directly via the Kickstarter page, the developer announced, "We are canceling the Wildman Kickstarter. At this point, it makes sense for us to focus our attention on other ways to keep Gas Powered Games running. Unfortunately, we are unable to share any specifics in public."

It's unclear how this will affect the development of Wildman, or whether or not the project will be finished.

The Kickstarter ended after 9,235 had pledged $504,120 of the $1,100,000 goal with just four days left to go.

It was reported that studio director Chris Taylor was "betting the company" on the Kickstarter project - the success of which was thought to be critical to the future of the troubled developer after recently suffering significant layoffs.

"We are profoundly grateful to those of you who backed this project and Gas Powered Games. Your passion and hard work put us in a position to write this exciting new chapter in the history of GPG," adds the developer.
