CD Projekt RED has revealed new plot details for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.
Lead writer Marcin Blacha and senior writer Borys Pugacz Muraszkiewicz discuss the transition of events between The Witcher 2 and its sequel in a video posted by Game Informer.
The talk about Geralt's search for a mystery "long lost love", and a deep bond he will discover with a character at the start of The Witcher 3.
Players will also apparently meet a number of characters from The Witcher 2 in the sequel, but in a "different situation" from that of their Witcher 2 encounters following a devastating war.

Due for release in 2014 on PC and "all high-end platforms available", The Witcher 3 will be powered by CDPR's new REDengine 3 technology, which is reportedly set to deliver an open world 30 times larger than The Witcher 2's.
The world is described as larger than Skyrim's, stretching from "stormy islands to war-torn forests and a sprawling dark fantasy metropolis without a loading screen anywhere to be found".
