Take-Two will take over the WWE franchise following THQ's demise, it has emerged.
The publisher has agreed to publish future titles in the WWE franchise, though the agreement is still awaiting the court's approval.
The news comes after earlier rumours that 2k Sports - owned by Take-Two - was poised to announce a lucrative partnership with wrestling corporation WWE. Those reports followed the stripping of THQ's assets in the wake of its bankruptcy late last month.
In a statement provided to Polygon, Take-Two has confirmed it has entered into an agreement with WWE, with development remaining with Japanese studio Yukes. "At this time, the agreement is pending court approval and we anticipate that it will be finalized shortly.
"We are very excited about the potential of this agreement and will have more to share at the appropriate time."
