The title was revealed by Yoshinori Ono, best known for being the face of Street Fighter IV and Street Fighter X Tekken.

"You've no idea how long I've wanted to talk about this," he said of the game.

Deep Down is being developed on a new engine described as the "next evolutionary step from the MT Framework". Titled Panta Rhei, the engine is being continuously refined to take advantage of the PlayStation 4's hardware.

The demo showed a dungeons and dragons inspired medieval work that was strikingly similar to Namco Bandai's Dark Souls and Capcom's own Dragon's Dogma. A character wearing armour was shown battling a large fire-breathing dragon.

When the player was overcome by the beast the footage cut to a message being sent by Ono-san to a friend requesting help, hinting at a co-op element.
