id Software's John Carmack has spoken out in favour of the PlayStation 4's hardware.
The legendary developer, who is believed to be working on Doom 4, Tweeted that he is happy with the specs for Sony's next-gen console.
"I can't speak freely about PS4, but now that some specs have been made public, I can say that Sony made wise engineering choices," he Tweeted.
This follows Carmack's comments last year that he isn't excited by next-gen consoles. "Sony and Microsoft are going to fight over gigaflops and teraflops and GPUs and all this. In the end, it won't make that much difference," he said.
Instead, Carmack has frequently expressed enthusiasm for virtual reality gaming, in particular the Oculus Rift, which Doom 4 will support.
