Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes hits Wii U this spring

Supports off-TV GamePad play, among other new features

Warner Bros. is to release a Wii U version of Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes this spring.

The game will offer an "enhanced interactive map" on the GamePad and let players select DC Comics characters using the controller's touchscreen.

It will also be completely playable on the GamePad in off-TV mode, allowing a second player to join in without having to share a single screen.

Originally launched in June 2012, the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PC, 3DS, DS and Vita game has sold over 3.4 million copies worldwide, according to Warner.

"A class act, if simple, trading complexity for good-natured charm," we said last year in our Lego Batman 2: DC Super Heroes review.
