Metal Gear Rising Revengeance tops Japanese chart

While Vita overtakes Wii U on the hardware front

The PS3 version of Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance has shot to the top of the Japanese software chart after selling over 300,000 copies during the week ended February 24.

It placed ahead of former chart toppers Dragon Quest VII: Warriors of Eden and Animal Crossing, while fellow new entries Magi: The Labyrinth of Beginning and Toaru Majutsu no Kagaku no Ensemble rounded off the top five.

3DS remained the best-selling hardware platform, while weekly Vita sales overtook Wii U's, according to Media Create data published on NeoGAF.
