Assassin's Creed 4: first trailer

Black Flag launching October 29, also coming to next-gen consoles

The first trailer for Assassin's Creed 4: Black Flag has hit the net ahead of a planned reveal later today.

Ubisoft released the official Assassin's Creed 4 box art last week along with a statement confirming it will further detail the sequel today at 5pm GMT.

According to numerous leaks, Black Flag is set in the Caribbean in 1715. The protagonist is said to be Edward Kenway, father of Haytham Kenway and grandfather of Connor Kenway from Assassin's Creed 3.

The first trailer lists the Assassin's Creed 4 release date as October 29, with versions also set for release on "next-gen consoles", presumably later this year. Once you've watched it, check out the first batch of Assassin's Creed 4 screenshots.
