Rome 2 Total War: Parthia playable faction revealed - screen

Joins Rome, Carthage, Macedon, Iceni, Arverni and Suebi

Sega has announced Parthia as the seventh of eight playable factions in Rome 2: Total War.

Joining the Roman, Carthage, Macedon, Iceni, Arverni and Suebi factions previously revealed, Parthia is profiled on the Total War Wiki.

Here's a description: "Swift riders clad in glittering scale-armour, the horsemen of the Parthian empire are exotic and truly formidable opponents in open-field battles. Displaying rare levels of tolerance and fairness in government, the Parthians are skilled statesmen, and their way of life represents a unique blend of Persian, Hellenistic and local cultures."

The latest Rome 2: Total War trailer centred on The Battle of Teutoburg Forest, a playable historical battle in which the Roman Empire suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Germanic tribes.

The Rome 2: Total War release date has reportedly been set for October 2013, although Sega's officially announced launch window for the game is simply late next year.
