A screenshot from Assassin's Creed was mistakenly used by a Danish television channel in a report on Syria.
The Times of Israel reports that Jacob Nybroe, head of news at the channel, confirmed the shot was used on February 26.
According to Nybroe, the image was supplied by an employee, who found it online and believed it to be a genuine photo of the Damascus skyline.
"[This is a] reminder to us all of the importance of verifying the sources of pictures," Nybroe said.
ITV made a blunder in 2011, when a documentary presented footage from Arma 2 as a secret IRA film from 1988. Media regulator Ofcom launched an investigation and ruled that ITV had breached broadcasting rules.
